Jay-Z On Way to a Billi

Forbes magazine has predicted Jay-Z will be worth a billion dollars by the year 2015. Jay-Z was named amongst an elite group of tech moguls, hedge-funders, athletes and entertainers who all have a chance of breaking into the Forbes 400 this decade.

Jay-Z has a total worth of $450 million, through his Roc Nation label, his catalog, which returns to him in 2014, Rocawear and a stake in the New Jersey Nets.

The rap star/mogul was listed alongside movers and shakers like Facebook's Sean Parker ($900 million), Marc Pincus (Zynga $850 million), producer Jerry Bruckheimer ($850 million), Jerry Seinfeld ($800 million), James Cameron ($650 million), Michael Jordan ($500 million), Tiger Woods ($500 million), Craig Newmark of Craigslist ($400 million), Tyler Perry ($350 million) and Reid Hoffman of LinkedIn ($340 million).

Jay-Z met up with Forbes' billionaire founder and CEO/Editor-in-Chief Steve Forbes and fellow billionaire investor Warren Buffett to discuss his success.

"Here you got these millionaire guys who had to pretend as if they weren't successful at all or it would be like a detriment to their career. Hip-hop from the beginning has always been aspirational," Jay-Z says.

Warren Buffett, 80, echoed Jay-Z's comments during the inaugural Forbes 400 Summit,
"Jay said it perfectly when he talked about how he's in there recording for himself, and the money comes afterwards," Buffett said. "I got to do what I love, and it doesn't get any luckier than that. I would be doing what I do now and I would've done it in the past if the payoff had been in seashells, or sharks' teeth, or anything else."

That is a big deal for hip hop to have the most respected person in the stock market quoting you word for word. Jay-Z more than anyone has laid the blueprint for artist to follow.

iPad Meet The Galaxy Tab

Samsung’s 7-inch tablet called the Galaxy Tab could have what it takes to give iPad a real fight in the tablet market.

It runs on a Cortex A8 1.0GHz processor, has a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, a 3 megapixel rear-facing camera and supports HD playback. It comes in a 16 GB and 32 GB version. If you need more space you can expand it up to 32 GB with the use of a microSD. The Galaxy Tab will support 3G but not for calls?

The Galaxy Tab runs Android 2.2 Froyo operating system even though Google has said it is not meant for tablets. It is lighter than the iPad and also supports Flash Player 10.1. Flash is still something that the iPad can’t do well unless Jailbroken and running Frash. Almost all apps in the Android Market will work for the Galaxy Tab so says Samsung anyway.

Every consumer electronics company seems to be working on a tablet of its own. Dell launched the Streak. If you never heard of it don't worry it was not news worthy, trust me. RIM the makers of BlackBerry and HP are also working on tablets.

There is a lot of catch up to do for Samsung and other companies out there. Since it's release Apple has sold more than 3 million iPads.

The other side of EA

I know you have heard that EA is like the Google of games but without the heart. I know you have heard that they are only in games for the money. I know you have heard that they kill off any other companies that gets in the way or buys them off (Mass Effect/Bungie) or makes it impossible to have a good product (2K Sports NFL).

There is however another side of EA. The studio that was once Mythic, now BioWare Mythic. That had been an issue with billing people too much for access to the RPG MMO Warhammer Online. I am not talking about $5 to $10. No, I mean a thousand dollars or more. Click to read the Joystick report on the issue.

Not only did EA's BioWare Mythic studio refund all charges, including paying for the overdraft fees. One member of the company went further by helping with the everyday items.

One of the managers named Todd reached out to local grocery stores and had groceries delivered to the family of the player. Purchased gift cards for use while the player waited for their checking account to be refunded. These are the things that never make it to the press.
