NBA Playoffs: Not a walkthrough for top seeds

Seems these #nbaplayoffs are going to be closer than I thought. Both #BULLS and #Heat almost got beat today.

Rose MVP, Bulls 60+ wins. The most wins since Mr. Air Jordan ran the Bulls. Yet the number 8 seed almost took them out. In fact it was touch and go until a few minutes in the fourth quarter. LeBron MVP, Wade MVP, Heat more than 50+ wins. Yet they almost got took out as well. What s going on? Simple. The NBA playoffs are not the regular season. These teams went in thinking it as going to be a cake walk were violently woken up and sadly mistaken.

This years playoffs are going to be similar to the March Madness of the NCAA. Meaning here will be some upsets. That is not to see that Bulls are going to lose to the Pacers but they will have their hands full.  That goes for everyone in the playoffs this year. There are going to be upsets. I'm calling it now. NO SWEEPS for any team in the 1st round.

Apple starts selling Square’s Payment Device Service In it's online & Retail Stores

20110416-054456.jpg

Square setup shop in a big way. It has got sales placement on Apple’s online store and the retail store. Apple will start selling Square devices in all of its U.S. retail stores starting this week.

Square offers an iPhone/iPod Touch, iPad and Android app which allows merchants to process and manage credit card transactions with a handy little credit card swiping device that plugs into the headset/microphone. Square’s technology was shoed off at the debut of Apple’s iPad 2.

This is Square’s first jump into retail stores. The device by Square will be the only payments product featured in the store. Apple and Square will also be partnering to host educational seminars at the stores, where consumers can learn how to use the device.

Square’s device is selling at the store for $9.95 but users get a $10 square credit when they sign up for an account and the apps are free. If you sign up for Square on its website, the device is free. I have been using the device for awhile now. I love it. Although I might have to buy another one since you now get it in black. Square devices were only available white when I signed up. It seems that Square will losing money on this deal but usage for the payments device will most likely go up. Therefore they will make it up on the transaction. Apple doesn’t use Square in its stores for transactions just yet but give it time. If you are a small business Square is the way to go. The device works on all iDevices and also select Android phones.

White House gets ready for internet IDs

[youtube=http://youtu.be/ATbQnT0MSlM]

The White House has just today officially unveiled its plans for a national secure internet ID program all so known as the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace (NSTIC). At first it will be voluntary. I am sure that will change over time.

The White House is saying this is not a national ID program of any sort, and it's going to some length to play up the involvement of multiple credential providers

LivingSocial: Never heard of them? Get with the program. They're Big!

  • They have 520 million shares outstanding

  • LivingSocial is a $2.9 billion company

  •  Revenue  $50 million a month

  • Projected revenue for 2011 $1 billion

  • Brought SocialMedia for $3 million
